Job summary

Tutor Me Education is seeking an In-Home Special Education Tutor to provide personalized academic instruction and socio-emotional support in students' homes across California. This flexible, part-time role starts with 2-10 hours per week and offers growth as you take on more students.

You’ll deliver targeted instruction aligned to IEP goals, collaborate with our team, and help students build confidence through engaging, individualized sessions.

Qualifications

• AA, BA, or higher in a relevant field preferred or ongoing college study.
• Experience supporting students with special needs (ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia) is valued.
• Ability to pass a background check and have reliable local travel.
• Bilingual Spanish/English is a strong plus with premium rates for matches.

Responsibilities

• Lead 1:1 in-home tutoring sessions tailored to diverse learning needs.
• Implement lesson plans aligned to each student’s IEP goals with team support.
• Adapt materials to each student’s learning profile and progress.
• Track progress after each session and communicate openly with parents/guardians.

Pay: $25-$35+/hour, (Additional premium rates available based on credentials and experience)

About The Role

At Tutor Me Education, we connect passionate educators with neurodivergent students for high-impact, 1:1 in-home tutoring. As an In-Home Special Education Tutor, you'll deliver personalized academic instruction, socio-emotional support, and patient behavioral guidance aligned to each student's learning style and IEP goals — right in their home.

This is a flexible, part-time W-2 employee role. Start with one student (2-10 hrs/week) and take on additional students whenever you'd like to grow your hours and income.

What You'll Do

• Lead engaging 1:1 sessions tailored to students with diverse learning needs
• Implement creative lesson plans aligned to each student's IEP goals (full resources and support from our team)
• Adapt academic materials to each student's unique learning profile
• Track progress after each session and keep open, empathetic communication with parents and guardians
• Foster a safe, inclusive environment that builds confidence and resilience

Who We're Looking For

• AA, BA, or higher (Special Education, Psychology, or Education preferred)
• Hands-on experience supporting students with special needs or learning differences (e.g., ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia) — currently enrolled college students with this experience are encouraged to apply
• Empathy, patience, and a student-first approach
• Reliable vehicle for local travel to client homes
• Ability to pass a background check
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a strong plus — premium rates available for bilingual matches

Pay

$25-$35+ per hour, based on your credentials, specialization, and the needs of the student you're matched with. Most roles fall in the $25-$35+ range; higher rates apply for credentialed or specialized tutors, higher-need cases, and bilingual (Spanish/English) matches.

Requirements

• AA, BA, or higher (Special Education, Psychology, or Education preferred)
• Hands-on experience supporting students with special needs or learning differences (e.g., ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia) — currently enrolled college students with this experience are encouraged to apply
• Able to commit to a student for the full school year. Consistency is central to a student's IEP progress, so we're looking for tutors who can build a lasting relationship rather than a short-term fill-in
