Job summary

Archford in North Little Rock, AR seeks an Anticipated Certified SPED Teacher-Horizons Day Treatment. The role requires a current Arkansas teaching license with SPED certification preferred or willingness to become certified.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and current Arkansas teaching license required.
• SPED certification preferred or willingness to become certified in SPED.
• Knowledge and experience in adolescent behavior issues and psychology.
• Licensure in assigned areas and/or AQT documentation.
• Experience working with at-risk students is preferred.
• Positive attitude and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Teach district/program approved curriculum and maintain student records.
• Develop differentiated lessons for ALE students (small group, one-on-one, etc.).
• Provide nurturing classroom environment that encourages responsibility.
• Participate in placement and transition conferences; assist with SAP/Transition/Behavior Plans.
• Adapt instruction based on students’ emotional, behavioral, academic and social status.
• Assist administration with district policies and student safety guidelines.
• Maintain an orderly and safe classroom environment.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about student progress.
• Collaborate with school counseling and mental health providers to support student success.
• Direct and evaluate learning experiences of all students.
• Incorporate project-based learning and technology into lesson plans.
• Maintain proper teacher-parent-student relationships and supervise students as needed.
• Adhere to Arkansas Code of Ethics and district policies.
• Other duties as assigned by director or campus supervisor.
