Job summary

The Alameda Unified School District seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to conduct comprehensive AAC evaluations, participate in IEP teams, and develop tailored intervention plans.

You will select and program AAC systems from low-tech to high-tech, maintain an inventory of tools, monitor student progress, and ensure documentation complies with federal, state, and district guidelines. California credential required; experience with language or speech disabilities preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid California Services Credential in Language, Speech and Hearing or Master’s in Speech Pathology.
• Ability to work with students who have language or speech disabilities.
• Desirable: Augmentative and Alternative Communication certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive AAC evaluations, including feature matching, device trials, and communication needs assessments, in collaboration with the SLPs and IEP teams.
• Develop and implement individualized AAC intervention plans aligned with IEP goals.
• Select, customize, and program AAC systems (low-tech to high-tech) based on student needs.
• Maintain an inventory of AAC tools (hardware and software) and order more equipment as needed.
• Monitor student progress and adjust AAC systems and intervention strategies accordingly.
• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with federal, state, and district guidelines.
