Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Ability to perform physical duties, including lifting and assisting students with mobility, as required.
• Previous experience working with students with disabilities is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Supporting students with academic and classroom activities.

• Providing supervision and support throughout the school day.
• Assisting with mobility, transitions and daily-living needs.
• Assist teacher as needed with planning, preparation, and distribution of classroom materials.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Comply with state law and district policies and regulations.
• Maintain a safe environment for students, conducive to learning.
• Provide individual and small group instruction to reinforce skills that have been taught by the teacher.
• Serve snacks and lunches or monitor students in the cafeteria, bus area, car area.
• Attend district workshops and meetings as directed.
• Maintain confidentiality, unquestionable integrity.
• Daily attendance and punctuality are required for the purpose of ensuring the goals of the work unit can be met.
• Display professionalism in appearance, attitude and actions.
• Follow each student’s IEP.
