Job summary

Kent School District is seeking a paraeducator to support Scenic Hill Elementary School. The role is 6.5 hours per day under a 190-day KAP calendar, with an annualized salary paid through August and an hourly range of $30.89–$37.99.

Step placement follows verified experience in an educational setting. Applicants must meet Washington state paraeducator requirements (AA or 72 college credits or ParaPro score of 455 plus diploma) or be willing to test, with post-hire training provided by the KSD

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 72 college credits from an accredited institution.
• ParaPro Assessment score of 455+ with high school completion or equivalent.
• Willingness to take the ParaPro Assessment if needed and join after finalist selection.

Paraeducator Requirements

Prior to starring, candidates must meet the minimum employment requirements for paraeducators in the State of Washington through one of the following means:

• Associate (AA) degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• 72 college level credits from an accredited institution
• A score of 455 or higher on the ETS ParaPro Assessment and proof of high school completion or equivalent.
• If you do not yet meet one of these qualifications and are willing to take the ParaPro Assessment, you can still apply. If you are the chosen finalist candidate you will have the opporutnity to take the test prior to being formally hired into the role.

Post Hire Requirements:

Upon hire, paraeducators will be required to complete state required training offered through our KSD Professional Development Team.
