Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have two years of study at an institution of higher education or an associate degree.
• Must pass criminal records check, physical exam, and TB test prior to employment.
• Comfort working with students with special needs and in a school environment.

Responsibilities

• Tutor individuals or small groups, reinforcing academic and life skills as directed by teachers.
• Assist in scoring and recording test information and monitor student progress.
• Maintain classroom records and attendance; assist with Medicaid billing logs as needed.
• Handle routine clerical duties and operate basic instructional equipment.
• Supervise students in labs, during meals, playground, and field trips.
• Confer with teachers on programs and materials to meet student needs.
• Transport students in board-owned vehicles as required for activities.
• Provide emotional support, guidance, and positive behavior monitoring.
