Job summary

SST Schools is hiring a SPED Teacher-SST for Spring, TX to coordinate Special Education, Section 504, and Dyslexia Programs in line with federal, state, and district requirements. The position requires a Bachelor's degree and SPED experience, with preference for Texas certification and related endorsements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 2 years of special education teaching experience (Preferred).
• Valid Texas Educator Certification with required special education endorsement (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Trains teachers and staff to understand and protect student confidentiality per laws.
• Participates in professional development and staff meetings as required.
• Assists in planning and implementing staff development and in-service programs for SPED.
• Monitors SPED/504 student progress and aligns instruction with assessments.
• Documents reports and records required by district, state, and federal laws.
• Ensures SPED classrooms are safe, organized, and conducive to learning.
• Maintains communication with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
• Collaborates with district personnel and external centers to educate on SPED/504 services.
• Advocates for SPED/504 students to ensure equity.
• Communicates instructional expectations to students and tracks progress.
• Supports general and SPED staff in implementing appropriate strategies.
• Implements accommodations/modifications for IEPs with appropriate setting.
