Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor I to join our team in Baltimore, MD. The role involves preparing and routing specimens, accurate labeling, shipping to testing facilities, meeting production goals, and precise data entry of patient information.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED and the potential for 1 year of related lab or production experience. The position requires attention to detail, teamwork, and proficiency with MS Office; lifting up to 40 lbs and color-blindness

Qualifications

  • Minimum: High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • Preferred: 1 year or more experience in lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing or warehouse environment
  • Preferred: 1 year of medical or production experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
  • Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas
  • Accurately identify and label specimens
  • Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
  • Meet department activity and production goals
  • Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
  • Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
  • Resolve and document any problem specimens

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor I to join our team in Baltimore, MD

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 4:30pm - 1:00am, rotating every 3rd Saturday 5:00pm - closed, and (on-call) every 15th Sunday 5:00pm - closed.

Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
  • Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas
  • Accurately identify and label specimens
  • Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
  • Meet department activity and production goals
  • Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
  • Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
  • Resolve and document any problem specimens
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year or more experience (lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing or warehouse environment)
  • 1 year of medical or production experience

  • Ability to accurately identify specimens
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Strong data entry and organizational skills

  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Able to lift up to 40lbs.
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Pay
  • Pay Range: $17.75-$24.00 Plus Shift Differential

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

Benefits

Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO. For more detailed information, see available resources.
