Job summary

Labcorp in Chantilly, VA is seeking a Specimen Processor I to prepare laboratory specimens for analysis, unpack and route them to staging areas, and ensure accurate labeling. The role requires keen attention to detail and reliable data entry in a fast-paced lab setting.

Evening shift Mon-Fri 8:00pm to 12:00am, pay $17.75-$20.00 per hour, with benefits for eligible staff. Prior lab or accessioning experience is preferred but not required; training is provided.

Job Title and Location

Specimen Processor I – Chantilly, VA.

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday 8:00pm - 12:00am

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
• Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas
• Accurately identify and label specimens
• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
• Meet department activity and production goals
• Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
• Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Resolve and document any problem specimens

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 year of experience (lab/accessioning, production/manufacturing/warehouse environment)

Additional Job Standards:

• Handle biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens

• Strong data entry and organizational skills

Pay Range:

**Pay Range: $17.75 - $20.00 per hour**

Benefits:

Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.

Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
