Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Management Specialist to join our team in Raritan, NJ. You will act as a liaison between the lab, clients, and patients, and will prepare and triage specimens for analysis while ensuring accurate labeling and shipping.

The role requires a high school diploma, attention to detail, and the ability to work with biological specimens. Shift is Mon-Fri with alternating Saturdays; hourly pay range $18.25-$22 plus shift differential, with comprehensive benefits for eligible

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Management Specialist to join our team in Raritan, NJ.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday, and alternating Saturdays, 12:00pm - 8:30pm

Job Responsibilities

• Act a liaison between the lab, clients, and patients.
• Resolve internal & external customer requests via calls, instant messenger & email communications
• Communicates with customers in respectful and professional manner.
• Work in multiple databases to research complex issues and questions.
• Provide customer education and information as needed.
• Review test forms for accuracy and report any discrepancies.
• Prepare and triage specimens for analysis.
• Accurately identify and label specimens.
• Pack and ship specimens as necessary.
• Prepare and store excess specimen samples.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 months or more of specimen processing experience
• 3 months or more of medical or laboratory experience

Additional Job Standards

• Comfortability with handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skillsAbility to work independently and within a team environment
• High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
• Ability to work in a fast paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

Pay Range:

$18.25-$22/hr. + Shift Differential

Benefits:

Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
