Job summary

Millennium Health is seeking a Full-Time Female Specimen Collector II in Tacoma, WA, with a 5am–1pm schedule Monday–Friday. Travel throughout Oregon and Washington is required.

The ideal candidate will perform observed collections and handle specimen processing, documentation, and coordination with clinics and the lab. Qualified applicants should have 6+ months in specimen collection or 1+ years in medical settings, strong digital skills, a valid driver’s license, and a commitment to HIPAA and

• 6+ months of specimen collector experience or 1+ years in medical field.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate a smartphone and computer.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• HIPAA, HiTrust, confidentiality and compliance familiarity.
• High School diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient urine and/or oral fluid specimens.
• Process and package collections for shipping.
• Serve as intermediary between the practice / clinic and the laboratory.
• Record patient information, physician order details, and pertinent laboratory information.
• Resolve specimen concerns with billing or patient information in ordering portal.
• Order and maintain collection supplies inventory onsite.
• Observe collection for Millennium Health specimens (when applicable).
• Travel between facilities; occasional overnight coverage.

Job description

Full Time Female Specimen Collector II Location: Tacoma, WA Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday, 5am-1pm Role requires travel throughout Oregon/Washington Seeking: Female candidates required for observed collections of gender identified male/female patients. Millennium Health LLC is an accredited specialty laboratory with more than a decade of experience in medication monitoring and drug testing services, helping clinicians monitor use of prescription medications and illicit drugs supporting improved clinical decision-making as part of treatment for millions of Americans with chronic pain, mental illness, and substance use disorders.

Role responsibilities

• Collect patient urine and/or oral fluid (saliva) specimens
• Process and package collections for shipping
• Serve as an intermediary between the practice / clinic and the laboratory
• Record patient information, physician order details, and pertinent laboratory information
• Resolve specimen concerns with billing or patient information in ordering portal
• Order and maintain collection supplies inventory onsite
• Observe collection for Millennium Health specimens (when applicable)
• Driving from/to multiple facilities may be required and occasional overnight coverage

Ideal Candidate

• 6+ months of experience as a specimen collector or 1+ years of experience in the medical field, directly supporting patients preferred 2+ years of customer service experience can be considered in place of medical experience
• Demonstrated ability to navigate a smart phone and computer required
• Valid driver's license required; reliable transportation
• Medical insurance/billing and/or familiarity with medications/diagnostic codes is a plus
• Ability to ensure HIPAA, HiTrust, Confidentiality and Compliance policy, procedures, and standards are always adhered to.
• Ability to ensure administrative, physical and technical cyber security controls are always adhered to
• High School diploma or equivalent required

Physical requirements: sitting 60%, walking 20%, standing 20%, lifting up to 20 lbs.

This position requires regular travel. In accordance with federal travel regulations, all employees must possess a valid REAL ID or an acceptable alternative form of identification to comply with government travel guidelines. Proof of compliant identification will be required prior to the start of employment.

Salary Range: $20-24/hr. Salary offered is dependent on qualifications, experience, and geographical location.
