Job summary

American Health Associates is hiring for a full-time role in our Indiana laboratory operations. You will enter patient demographics and test information, process samples, troubleshoot issues, and help ensure specimens reach the correct department.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, data entry experience, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting. Strong communication with coworkers and patients is valued, and cross-training across disciplines is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Entry of patient demographics and test information into the computer system.
• Process and accession laboratory samples for in-house and reference lab testing.
• Troubleshoot problems when necessary.
• Prepare samples for testing and ensure proper routing to the correct department.

Responsibilities

• Enter patient demographic and test information accurately into the computer system.
• Process and accession laboratory samples for in-house testing and reference lab testing.
• Must be able to troubleshoot problems when necessary.
• Set up and prepare samples for testing and ensure that specimens are delivered to proper department for testing and placed on the instrument.
• Must be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Must maintain a clean and safe working environment, wear proper PPE, and support safety in the workplace.
• Ensure specimen stability and identify errors, with proper documentation and completion of work.
• Support laboratory goals, policies, procedures, and philosophy.
• Prepare samples and paperwork to be sent to appropriate reference lab or AHA location.
• Scan requisitions, run missing requisition report, and follow-up.

Skills

Experience in a clinical laboratory
