Job summary

Rarebreed Veterinary Partners is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Technician for our Vienna, VA location. You will work closely with boarded surgeons, residents, and a neurologist team to deliver high-quality patient care.

The role includes anesthesia monitoring, physical assessments, and lab procedures, with a sign-on incentive of up to $3,000. Applicants must hold Virginia LVT/RVT or be eligible for transfer and demonstrate strong client communication.

Qualifications

• Active LVT or RVT license in Virginia (or eligibility for transfer).
• Experience in specialty veterinary medicine and/or small animal anesthesia.
• CVT, RVT, or LVT certification preferred.
• VTS (Anesthesia or Surgery) encouraged.
• Strong knowledge of canine anatomy and rehabilitation practices.
• Excellent communication and client service skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality care to patients and their families.
• Conduct physical assessments and document findings accurately.
• Assist in medical surgical procedures, including anesthesia monitoring and fluid administration.
• Perform in-hospital laboratory procedures and prepare specimens for outside labs.
• Maintain and prepare exam rooms, treatment areas, and specialty equipment.
• Educate clients on home care and follow-up procedures.
• Prepare treatment estimates and discuss financial commitments with clients.
• Ensure proper inventory management and communicate supply needs.
• Maintain detailed and compliant medical records.
