Job summary

Target is hiring for a Specialty Sales Team Leader in Kansas City, MO. The role centers on delivering an exceptional guest experience, leading a team of hourly associates, and driving sales through effective merchandising and operations.

You will train, coach, and develop staff while managing daily workloads and store priorities. The position offers an hourly pay range of $21.50 to $36.55 with competitive benefits including health coverage, 401(k), paid leave, and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Retail experience preferred, but not required.
• Lead and hold others accountable.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members.
• Effective communication skills.
• Capable of remaining focused in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver guest experience commitments to create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience.
• Train and ensure team understands and delivers Target’s guest experience commitments.
• Observe and provide feedback, and hold team accountable while recognizing great guest experience moments.
• Review area metrics to identify opportunities and drive improvements.
• Lead a culture of safety and ethical conduct and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Plan daily/weekly workload to support priorities and sales goals.
• Lead and develop a team of consultants under direct supervision.
• Assign daily tasks to team members based on workload and traffic patterns.
• Encourage use of department tools to inspire guests and complete purchases.
