Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Specialty Representative/Senior Specialty Representative for the Cardiovascular portfolio. You will be the primary contact for medical professionals, promote Amgen products, and navigate payer environments while implementing the marketing strategy under the guidance of the District Manager.

Ideal candidates will have multiple years of pharmaceutical or biotech sales experience, strong market knowledge, and established relationships.

We are actively searching for aSpecialty Representative/Senior Specialty Representativeto deliver on our commitment to serve patients.

The Specialty Representative/Senior Specialty Representative acts as the primary customer contact and is responsible for implementing marketing strategy and promoting Amgen products as led by the District Manager.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide current and comprehensive knowledge of Amgens products and effectively communicate the clinical benefits to medical professionals to drive appropriate utilization of the products.

  • Perform as a sales leader to achieve territory sales by delivering branded sales messages, conducting planned programs, scheduling and following up on medical educational programs, and achieving or exceeding sales targets through both in-person and virtual engagement.

  • Develop relationships to service and manage accounts, including customizing discussions and customer interactions based on an understanding of customer needs, ensuring product access, resolving or triaging reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.

  • Provide feedback on marketing strategy, analyze the business effectiveness of sales activities and territory performance, and develop territory plans in partnership with the District Manager.

  • Partner with other colleagues to share best practices and continuously learn and grow as a Senior Specialty Representative.

  • Demonstrate passion for Amgens products and sustain that passion throughout the entire sales cycle, consistently building the brand while keeping patient impact at the forefront.

Basic Qualifications Specialty Representative:
  • Bachelor's Degree OR

  • Associate's degree and 4 years of Sales experience OR

Basic Qualifications - Senior Specialty Representative:
  • Bachelors degree and 3 years of sales experienceand/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales relatedOR

  • High school diploma / GED and 8 years of sales experienceand/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Three or more years of sales experience within pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device industry Product or hospital sales experience in the areas of oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology or infectious diseases; and the diseases and treatments involved with these specialties

  • Local market knowledge

  • Established relationships in the territory

  • A Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration

The expected annual salary range for Specialty Representative in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $89,816 to $121,602.

The expected annual salary range for Senior Specialty Representative in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $109,631- $148,325. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.

In addition to the base salary, Amgen offers a Total Rewards Plan, based on eligibility, comprising of health and welfare plans for staff and eligible dependents, financial plans with opportunities to save towards retirement or other goals, work/life balance, and career development opportunities that may include:
