This role is field‑based and candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.

This geography covers the areas surrounding Seattle, Everett, Olympia, and Spokane.

Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, manage sales performance, effectively manage assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, and solve customer needs to maximize short‑ and long‑term sales performance. Place the patient at the center of any efforts and operate within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed objectives.
  • Create pre‑call plans using SMART objectives and execute post‑call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance.
  • Proactively serve customer needs, expectations, and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win‑win agreements.
  • Develop and execute call plans that achieve set metrics and optimize coverage and frequency to key customers.
  • Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, product, clinical, and sales expertise. Share this market intelligence with the in‑field team, brand team, and sales manager.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers, identify, develop, and maintain disease‑state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business‑related field preferred or relevant; equivalent industry experience required.
  • Five (5) years of experience with at least three (3) years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry if no bachelor’s degree (high school diploma or GED required).
  • Proven track record of success in selling and solid presentation skills; proactive, adaptable selling approach, innovative ideas, and impact on the organization.
  • Influences others and is viewed as a credible role model; builds collaborative partnerships, leads by example, and displays positive behaviors.
  • Documented success in leadership and support roles at district, regional, or organizational levels.
  • Preferred: Proven sales performance within therapeutic areas; commercial pharmaceutical experience such as physician/account‑based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing.
  • English language proficiency verbally and in writing.
  • Satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements for entry into facilities and organizations in the assigned territory.
  • Must be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain HCIR credentials; responsible for ensuring compliance.
  • In‑depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; proficient use of business tools; strategic and critical thinking; matrix environment experience.
  • Driving a personal auto or company vehicle, or a powered piece of material handling equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license and pre‑employment drug screening clearance.
Key Stakeholders
  • External: Specialty physicians in therapeutic brand area, pharmacists, nurses, and others depending on brand plan.
  • Internal: In‑field team members, sales management (i.e., DSM), marketing management, training, customer excellence, and brand plan stakeholders.

  • Compensation range is the possible base pay range the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of posting. Individual compensation within this range may vary.
  • Benefits include paid time off (vacation, holidays, sick), medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k) to eligible employees.
  • Eligible to participate in short‑term incentive programs.
