Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Specialty Representative to serve Michigan State University as a field-based role. This position involves executing marketing strategies, promoting Amgen products, and managing accounts within the territory.

The candidate will communicate clinical and economic benefits of Amgen products, coordinate with the District Manager, and work toward meeting or exceeding sales targets while supporting access and reimbursement processes. Remote/hybrid work may be available where possible.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required; alternative pathways with 4–6 years of relevant experience accepted.
  • Experience in healthcare or scientific field that is not sales is acceptable with corresponding education levels.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential for demand creation and account management.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary customer contact for demand creation and promote Amgen products as directed by the District Manager.
  • Deliver branded sales messages, execute planned programs, and coordinate medical educational activities.
  • Achieve territory sales targets and manage accounts, including access, reimbursement issues, and contracts.
  • Develop territory plans with the District Manager and provide feedback on marketing strategy.

What You Will Do

Amgen therapeutics have changed the practice of medicine, helping millions of people around the world in the fight against cancer, kidney disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and other serious illnesses. With a broad and deep pipeline of potential new medicines, Amgen remains committed to advancing science to dramatically improve people's lives.

As a Specialty Representative, you will act as the primary customer contact for demand creation by executing marketing strategy and promoting Amgen products as led by the District Manager. In this strategic role you will provide current and comprehensive clinical knowledge of Amgen's products and effectively communicate the clinical and economic benefits of the products. As a sales leader you are expected to achieve territory sales by executing Plan of Action (POA) marketing strategies, which includes delivering branded sales messages, executing planned programs, scheduling and following up with medical educational programs, and achieving or exceeding sales targets. Specialty Representatives are also responsible for servicing and managing accounts, which includes ensuring product access, resolving/triage reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts. Additional responsibilities involve providing feedback on marketing strategy and effectiveness reviews of sales activities and territory analysis, in addition to developing territory plans with your District Manager.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

OR

  • Associate's degree and 4 years of Sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related

  • High school diploma/GED and 6 years of Sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related

The expected annual salary range for Specialty Representative in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $89,880.00 - $121,602.00. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
