Singing River Health System in Pascagoula is seeking a Specialty Pharmacy Technician to ensure patients receive the correct medications and maintain high quality and safety standards. The technician will package and label prescriptions, verify orders, and work closely with patients and healthcare professionals.

The ideal candidate will be a high school graduate, registered as a Pharmacy Technician, and possess strong communication skills. This role requires proficiency in pharmacy software and may involve physical demands such as lifting and travel.

Formación

• Experience in retail pharmacy, claims, or insurance coordination preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and own transportation for travel within the SRHS service area.

Responsabilidades

• Verify medication orders for accuracy and completeness.
• Package medications and label prescriptions according to policies.
• Maintain inventory levels and manage medication supplies.
• Ensure confidentiality and proper documentation of all prescription data.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and comply with accreditation requirements.

Conocimientos

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Proficiency in computer applications (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and pharmacy software

Educación

High school graduate or equivalent required; completion of a pharmacy technician training program preferred

Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the Mississippi State Board of Pharmacy

Certification as a Pharmacy Technician by the PTCB or NHA preferred
