Job summary

Kaleida Health, Buffalo General Medical Center, is seeking a Specialty Pharmacy Technician for the KH Outpatient Pharmacy on High Street. This on-site role dispenses specialty medications under the guidance of the Specialty Pharmacist, and supports dispensing complex therapies, pricing checks, restocking, and program operations.

The technician will work standard hours 8:00am–4:30pm, Monday–Friday, at a full-time, on-site location in Buffalo, NY.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician required upon hire.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specialty medications under specialty pharmacist supervision.
• Assist in price-checking, restocking, and inventory management.
• Support program operations and fulfill additional tasks required by the specialty pharmacy program.

Job Summary: Specialty Pharmacy Technicians are trained in dispensing specialty medications and managing the medical conditions encountered in the patient population serviced. The Technician prepares medications under the guidance of the Specialty Pharmacist, assists with support activities and processes required to dispense complex disease‑state medications, price‑checking, restocking of drugs, and supports other Specialty Pharmacy program operations as needed.

Education & Credentials

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician required upon hire.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician required upon hire.

Experience

• 1 year of experience as a registered pharmacy technician required.
• 3 years is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specialty medications under specialty pharmacist supervision.
• Assist in price‑checking, restocking, and inventory management.
• Support program operations and fulfill any additional tasks required by the specialty pharmacy program.

Work Conditions

• Standard hours: 8am–4:30pm, Monday‑Friday.
• On‑site work.
• Standard FTE: 1.0666.
• Bi‑weekly pay; salary range $22.37–$28.31 per hour.
