Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health Inc. is seeking a Specialty Pharmacy Technician II to ensure safe, accurate preparation of sterile medications in a hospital setting. You will work with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to provide sterile compounding services while adhering to USP 797/800 and regulatory guidelines.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, at least 2 years of sterile compounding and hospital experience, plus knowledge of EPIC and chemotherapy product preparation.

The Specialty Pharmacy Technician II at HMH will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and accurate preparation of sterile medications for patients. You will work closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to provide sterile compounding services while adhering to strict regulatory guidelines.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
• Minimum of 2 years of sterile compounding experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of hospital or similar experience.
• Minimum of 6 months of hazardous compounding experience.
• Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques, USP <797> and <800> standards, and compounding equipment.
• Experience in the utilization of CTSD devices and tubing to prepare complex chemotherapy products.
• Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a sterile environment.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Proficiency in using software and computer applications such as EPIC.
• Strong knowledge of brand/generic hazardous medications.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

• Pharmacy Technician License.
• PTCB Certified Pharmacy Technician or NHA Certified Pharmacy Tech (CPT or ExCPT).

Licenses and Certifications Preferred:

• Cert Compounded Sterile Preparation Tech.
• NPTA Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Tech Certification.
• NPTA Hazardous Compounding Certification.
