Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a billing and claims associate responsible for accurate billing and timely collection of third‑party and patient payments for products and services provided. The role emphasizes Medicare documentation, claims accuracy, and efficient communication with patients and providers.

The position requires pharmacy–related billing knowledge, strong customer service, and the ability to coach staff on external billing practices. Employment is contingent on eligibility and geography.

Qualifications

• Experience communicating verbally and in writing to various audiences (phone, group, management, external clients).
• Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers with quality standards in mind.
• Experience with submitting medical claims, Medicare submission, EOBs, remittance advice, and timely filing concepts.

Responsibilities

• Submit timely, accurate invoices to payer for products and services provided.
• Correctly determine quantities and prices for products and services billed.
• Verify services and products are correctly authorized and required documentation is on file.
• Ensure all Medicare documentation is received from the medical provider and submitted to Danville.
• Review reports to maximize generic substitution opportunities.
• Manage and collect patient balances prior to prescription dispensing, or per policy.
• Ensure all required billing documentation is completed before claim submission.
• Process reimbursement checks/payment per policy.
• Review price modify logs for SDL claims.
