Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in the industrial Specialty Mechanical industry.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of service line equipment including pipe cutting, isolation and weld test equipment.
  • Ability to comprehend the English language, written and verbal.
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Act as safety representative responsible for safety policies & procedures of both the company & the customer, including hands‑on information regarding operations, safety, equipment, emergency response & administrative functions.
  • Hands‑on operation, when required, of manual and automated hydro‑blasting equipment.
  • Operation of special equipment, such as ultra‑high‑pressure pumps.
  • Operate equipment by energizing the pumping equipment and/or any specialized hydro‑blasting and/or chemical cleaning equipment, vacuum trucks & cutting equipment being used on the job.
  • May be required to examine surface cleaned to ensure conformance to company & customer specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance on company equipment being used on the job.
  • In supervisor roles: Interface with customer representatives regarding job setup and scope, ensure performance & customer requirements are met and procedures are implemented at the job site.

Job description

HPC-Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors is looking for an SMS Technician III to join their safety conscious team and work at various customer locations. This team member is responsible for supervising single/multiple crews in performing downstream service line tasks (vacuum, hydro blast, etc.). Ensures compliance with all Company policies/procedures and maintains/improves good customer relations by providing quality, timely Specialty Mechanical services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In the case of personnel in a supervisor capacity: Interface with customer representatives regarding job setup and scope, ensure performance & customer requirements are met or exceeded and company policies & procedures are implemented at the job site. Report to the branch manager or the designee and implement procedures to obtain results specified by the branch manager.
QUALIFICATIONS

Physical demands:

  • Industrial setting, refinery, petrochemical, utilities, pulp and paper mills, barge, onshore/offshore, etc.
  • Must be able to wear protective clothing or equipment. This includes, but is not limited to Nomex coveralls, a back belt, slicker suits, rubber boots, a fresh air breathing mask and escape pack and a hard hat.
  • Must be able to work under extreme climate conditions (excessive high heat index of 95+ degrees Fahrenheit, 98% humidity and subzero weather conditions) relative to geographic location.
  • Must be able to withstand exposure to dust, chemical and environmental, fumes (chemical and fluids), exhaust and highly pressurized fluids.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Minimum 5 plus years of experience within the industrial Specialty Mechanical industry. Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and ability in people management.
  • Strong knowledge in operating equipment used in service line, including pipe cutting equipment, isolation and weld test equipment, leak repair, field machining and technical bolting equipment.
  • Ability to comprehend the English language, written and verbal.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience troubleshooting equipment is preferred.
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
