Job Description

The Specialty Nurse Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all clinical functions, nursing practice, and standards of care related to the delivery of patient care within the assigned specialty service in the Main Operating Room. This role involves using the nursing process to design, coordinate, and deliver care to meet the needs of patients undergoing operative procedures. The coordinator assists in directing daily activities, leading, planning, controlling, and evaluating nursing practices and operations for the specialty area. They serve as a clinical expert and resource for the specialty service, providing patient care to assigned patients, and acting as a role model and resource for colleagues, staff, patients, and students.

Ideal Candidate

A circulating Registered Nurse with leadership skills who has worked in Acute Care Hospitals, Level 1 Trauma Centers, Academic Medical Centers, or High Volume Operating Departments.
