Job summary

Veterinary Specialists of the Rockies in Castle Rock, CO, seeks an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our Internal Medicine Department. You will work closely with board-certified internists, technicians, and fellow assistants to provide high-quality care to complex and critically ill patients.

You will assist with exams, diagnostics, treatments, monitoring, client communication, and ensure a clean, organized clinical environment.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of veterinary assistant experience in a clinical setting; specialty experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient exams, triage, treatments, and daily patient care
• Provide compassionate client communication and education
• Safely restrain patients using low-stress handling techniques
• Assist with collecting diagnostic samples and preparing patients for radiographs, ultrasound, and endoscopy
• Assist technicians and doctors with procedures and treatments
• Prepare and maintain treatment areas, exam rooms, and equipment
• Ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, and stocking of patient care areas
• Provide compassionate care and support to patients and their families during challenging medical situations
