We are a Division of Great American Insurance Group serving the Human and Social Services sector for more than 40 years. SHS works with agents to address the coverage needs and loss exposures of more than 16,000 social service and non-profit organizations across the country.
SHS is currently looking for an Intern in our downtown Cincinnati Office. The Internship Position involves a combination of activities aimed at giving an intern a full understanding of a Great American Claims department and how it interacts with other functions within the organization. The program is a potential pathway to a career in insurance. Internships typically consist of a 10-week period over the summer.
Within the SHS division, interns will work on meaningful assignments and gain exposure to a variety of claims functions, including: claims handling, analysis, investigation, and negotiation. To gain a broader perspective of the business, interns will have the opportunity to meet with individuals who work in the other various functions within the group.
Claims interns will participate in activities with other interns, employees, and leaders throughout the organization. In addition to on-the-job learning, interns also attend lunch-and-learns to further develop their business knowledge. The SHS Claim Intern will also participate in the organization wide Claim Intern Program, meeting regularly with claim interns across the divisions and lines of business.
