Job summary

Whole Foods Market IP. L.P. in the Los Angeles area is seeking an entry-level Specialty Team Member to support product receiving, display upkeep, and customer service on the Specialty floor. You will help maintain displays, engage customers, and ensure quality standards are met.

You will also assist with sampling, keep back stock organized, and follow health and safety procedures while delivering friendly, efficient service to customers and team members.

Qualifications

• No prior retail experience required.
• Ability to learn basic knowledge of products carried in department.
• Strong communication and willingness to work as part of a team.
• Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions.
• Ability to follow directions and maintain organization.

Responsibilities

• Surprises and delights customers with consistent and delicious food.
• Engages in positive and proactive selling.
• Ensures a fresh and appealing display by keeping cases and shelves clean and well-stocked.
• Checks product to ensure it meets quality standards.
• Monitors spoilage and waste to minimize department costs.
• Assists with sampling, keeping areas full and appealing.
• Maintains back stock in good order.
• Communicates market information to customers.
• Ensures logs for temperature and sanitation are completed; arrives on time in proper attire.
• Provides excellent customer service and uses suggestive selling techniques.
• Maximizes sales through proper prep, storage, rotation, stocking, and merchandising.
• Follows health, sanitation, and safety procedures.
• Maintains a clean and safe working/shopping environment; adheres to safety standards.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties and ensures accurate signage.
• Reports safety hazards and violations immediately.
• Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.
