Holy Cross Health is seeking a Specialty Dietitian (Dialysis Dietitian) to manage nutrition care for critically ill patients and others relying on artificial nutrition support at Holy Cross Hospital, Silver Spring, MD. The role collaborates with physicians, nurses and staff to optimize nutrition plans.

The position requires a BS in Dietetics, active RD registration, Maryland licensure in progress, and provides nutrition education to patients and families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Dietetics or Food & Nutrition from an accredited institution.
• Active registration status with American Dietetic Association.
• Licensed, or in the process of becoming licensed, in the state of Maryland.
• Provide documentation showing Registered Dietitian (RD) from the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the credentialing agency with Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Responsibilities

• Participates in interdisciplinary care including interdisciplinary rounds, Performance Improvement, provision of nutrition education in the area of nutrition support for the medical and support staff, patient, family.
• Incorporates information from nurses, physicians, pharmacists, and other ancillary staff to manage the nutrition care of complex patients. Thoroughly reads the medical record to be aware of all aspects of patient care.
• Appropriately assesses, plans, documents and communicates nutritional care and care plans following established standards and protocol.
• Provides education and/or counseling to patients and/or family as per assessed need, request or consult.

Position Purpose

Manages the nutrition care of critically ill patients as well of other patients who rely on artificial nutrition support (enteral and parenteral nutrition). Provides nutrition expertise to physicians and other health professionals.

As a Dialysis Dietitian, you will:

Pay Range

• $32.44 - $50.29
• Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
