Job context: This onsite Talent Acquisition Specialist role supports full lifecycle hiring for entry level through mid-level management roles.
Responsibilities
- Manage recruiting activities including sourcing candidates, reviewing applications, pre-screening, interviewing, and coordinating interviews.
- Coordinate drug testing and background checks; complete reference checks.
- Extend conditional offers for non-exempt and exempt level candidates and handle related administrative recruiting tasks.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified candidates for critical and repeat positions to support agency staffing needs.
- Generate leads through networking, career job boards, websites, referrals, job fairs, and publications/flyers.
- Design, edit, and place recruitment advertisements using approved vendors after final approval by the Senior Director - Human Resources.
- Post and maintain open positions in the applicant tracking system to ensure postings remain updated and current.
- Screen and send qualified resumes to hiring managers.
- Conduct face-to-face and phone screening interviews to support managers in selecting candidates for in-person interviews.
- Assist with pre-employment background checks and onboarding activities.
- Research sourcing and recruitment innovations and keep sourcing practices aligned with leading best practices.
- Ensure internal departments receive timely submission of candidates, follow up on inquiries, collect feedback, and resolve candidate and process issues.
- Communicate and meet staffing performance expectations including time to fill of < 30 days and vacancy rate of < 4%.
- Provide excellent customer service and timely responses to candidates, hiring managers, and community agency partners.
- Coordinate the handoff of new staff from recruitment and onboarding to the training team and hiring manager, supporting high-quality engagement during the initial weeks of employment.
- Plan, schedule, and participate in internal and external career events, including community job fairs, to support hiring efforts.
- Partner with the Director - Human Resources to support cost control and contribute to innovation around return on investment.
- Analyze and track candidate-specific metrics such as average time to fill and average cost per hire.
- Track and report key recruitment metrics.
- Support general recruiting and human resources tasks and projects as assigned, including assistance with special projects (Open Enrollment, United Way Campaign, agency-sponsored events).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organization Development, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3+ years of full-cycle, high-volume recruiting and staffing experience with demonstrated success meeting performance metrics.
- Advanced computer skills, including applicant tracking systems, job boards, internet searches, and strong proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) plus social networking and recruiting media.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
- If the role requires driving: maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage and be able to travel as needed if driving your vehicle on company business.
