L3Harris Technologies in Yorba Linda, CA is seeking an early‑career Specialist Systems Engineer. You will perform systems engineering analysis, development, and verification across the program lifecycle in military embedded real‑time environments.

The role offers growth toward higher‑level positions, collaboration with mechanical, electrical, and software teams, and potential to contribute to Navigation/GPS solutions while supporting MBSE and digital engineering.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or similar STEM major with 4+ years of experience; Graduate Degree with 2 additional years.
• 3+ years of experience in GPS, GPS Receivers, or APNT.

Job Description

Join us for an exciting opportunity at L3Harris in Yorba Linda, CA. This is early‑career engineering position with a growth path to higher‑level positions. As a Specialist Systems Engineer, you will perform tasks independently with small guidance from senior Systems Engineers for Systems Engineering analysis, development, design, requirements, maturation, maintenance, and verification and validation over the program lifecycle. The Navigation/GPS products operate in military embedded real‑time systems and can be used in weapons, ground, airborne, maritime, and space environments.

Essential Functions

• Generation, traceability, allocation, verification, validation of requirements specifications.
• Integration and test planning, including generation of plans and procedures.
• Conduct trade studies.
• Generation of functional block diagrams, use‑case diagrams.
• Perform system reliability and maintainability analyses.
• Perform system safety analyses.
• Creation and presentation of design review materials.
• Unit‑level and system‑level integration and testing, both in the laboratory and in the field.
• Verification of system interfaces.
• Interfacing with the other engineering disciplines (e.g., mechanical, electrical, software) to ensure proper coordination of the systems aspects of the project.
• Perform Modeling and Simulation (M&S) development, performance analyses, and maintenance.
• Perform Algorithm development and analysis in RF Signal Processing or Navigation.
• Support Digital Engineering and Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or similar STEM major with a minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. A Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or similar STEM major with 2 years additional prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
• 3+ years of previous experience in GPS, GPS Receivers, or Assured Position, Navigation, Timing (APNT).
• 2+ years of previous experience with DOORS, Cameo, MATLAB/Simulink, or C/C++, including coursework.
• Active US DoW Secret clearance or higher.

Preferred Additional Skills

• Soft skills (I.E. Proficient in MS Office, Strong communication…)
• Familiarity or interest in GPS, GPS Receivers, or Assured Position, Navigation, Timing (APNT).
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must work effectively in both independent and team environments.
• Experience with RF Signal Processing, Digital Signal Processing (DSP), and/or GPS/INS algorithm development.
• Experience in Kalman Filters (KF/EKF), Adaptive Filtering, Optimization Theory and Design.
• Experience in Modeling and Simulation (M&S).

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California is $92,500 - $171,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
