Job summary

The States of Guernsey are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Specialist Speech & Language Therapist to join our Adult Speech and Language Therapy team in Guernsey.

This role provides specialist assessment, treatment and management for adults with speech, language and swallowing difficulties across acute, rehabilitation, continuing care, community and adult disability settings, working within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Qualified Speech-Language Pathologist with specialist expertise in adult care.
• Experience with dysphagia assessment and management.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Conduct specialist assessment, treatment and management for adults with communication and swallowing difficulties.
• Manage a varied caseload across acute, rehabilitation, community and disability settings.
• Deliver evidence-based interventions and contribute to service development.
• Provide clinical leadership and support to junior colleagues and students.
• Promote person-centred care and advocate for service users.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide specialist assessment, treatment and management for adults with speech, language, communication and swallowing (dysphagia) difficulties across acute, rehabilitation, continuing care, community and adult disability settings.

Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will manage a varied caseload, deliver evidence-based interventions, contribute to service development, and provide clinical leadership and support to junior colleagues and students. You will play a key role in promoting person-centred care, advocating for service users, and supporting high standards of clinical practice.
