Job summary

Enterprise Products is seeking a Senior Technical Training Specialist to develop and deliver training for Operations and Maintenance in plant, pipeline, and storage environments. You will serve as a Process SME for plant/field operations, creating practical, safety‑focused training materials and leveraging LMS records.

Qualifications

  • Must be a subject‑matter expert in Plant/Field Process Operations and have a minimum of 5 years of Process Operations experience in oil & gas (midstream preferred).
  • Able to travel up to 35% of the time, including weekends and after hours.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED; some college/certifications preferred.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to clearly convey complex topics.
  • Knowledge of midstream operations/regulations (OSHA, DOT).
  • Proficient reading and teaching from facility drawings (P&IDs).
  • Self‑starter with coordination and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to arrive early/stay late; work in fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction for new and existing Operations/Maintenance personnel in plant/field processes, equipment, and systems.
  • Deliver training in classroom settings and in field via tours, demonstrations, and hands‑on exercises.
  • Develop teaching props, simulations, and testing material to ensure effectiveness of training.
  • Research independently, collaborate with others, and update training materials as policies and technology change.
  • Leverage external vendors and internal SMEs to deliver training classes to customers.
  • Keep abreast of industry changes and update training materials as regulations and technology evolve.
  • Take feedback from participants to continuously improve materials and delivery.
  • Be SME for Enterprise business sectors and assist others; develop other areas as needed.
  • Lead special projects/initiatives and support training tasks as required.

The Senior Technical Training Specialist is a Process SME that will develop, deliver, and continuously improve existing training for our Operations and Maintenance Plant/Pipeline/Storage customers, as well as other groups. The Specialist must be a subject‑matter expert in Plant/Field Process Operations.

  • Provide instruction for new and existing Operations/Maintenance personnel in plant/field processes, equipment, and systems that help improve the safety, reliability, and efficiency of Enterprises Operations.
  • Provide training in classroom settings as well as in field via tours, demonstrations, and hands‑on exercises.
  • Develop teaching props, simulations, and testing material to ensure effectiveness of training provided.
  • Research independently, collaborate with others, and attend training to increase knowledge in order to develop new and improved training materials (presentations, manuals, etc.).
  • Leverage external vendors and internal SMEs to deliver training classes to our customers.
  • Keep abreast of changes in our industry and update training material as policies, regulations, codes change and new technology is adopted.
  • Take constructive feedback from participants to continuously improve presentation material and delivery.
  • Be a subject matter expert of select Enterprise business sectors and be able to field questions and provide assistance to others in the company as needed. Also be willing to develop and diversify in other non‑strength areas, as needed.
  • Be a positive change agent that is passionately committed to safe and efficient operations and our company policies.
  • Ensure records of training provided are accurate in the LMS database.
  • Foster relationships with various Operations/Maintenance groups to better understand and meet their needs.
  • Share knowledge of and keep abreast of changes to the location of information systems, documents, forms, manuals on our company intranet or LAN.
  • Take lead and support roles in special projects/initiatives, committees, and key plant/pipeline start‑ups and/or investigations as needed.
  • Assist Supervisor/Manager and other Training Specialists with additional tasks as required.
What Your Background Should Look Like (minimum Qualifications)

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

  • Must be a subject‑matter expert in Plant/Field Process Operations and have a minimum of 5 years of Process Operations experience in the oil and gas industry (midstream experience preferred).
  • Able to travel up to 35% of the time, including weekends and after hours.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent required. Some college, certificate, or a degree is preferred.
  • Possess strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Must be able to clearly and concisely communicate complex topics to others in a variety of ways.
  • Must have a passion for training others and the ability to make training interesting, relevant, and inspiring.
  • Must have knowledge of midstream operations and/or maintenance, construction, the facilities/equipment, and regulations that govern them (OSHA, DOT, etc.).
  • Able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with other individuals, teams, customers, and stakeholders of the business at various levels of the organization in a businesslike and professional manner.
  • Possess strong computer skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, databases, etc.) and the ability or willingness to learn new programs quickly.
  • Must be skilled at reading, interpreting, and teaching others on various facility drawings (P&IDs).
  • Must be a self‑starter and have strong coordination/organizational skills.
  • Ability and willingness to arrive early and/or stay late periodically.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, make recommendations, and find cost‑effective solutions to meet business needs.
