The Personal Lines Billing team is seeking a skilled Quality Engineer with strong Mainframe testing experience and a background in billing application validation, backend data analysis, and test automation. This role will support the quality and reliability of critical billing systems across Mainframe batch processing, end-to-end billing flows, performance testing, and modern automation capabilities.
This role is best suited for an experienced quality professional who can navigate a complex, highly integrated billing environment; execute and validate Mainframe batch jobs; query DB2 data to confirm backend results; and apply a practical mix of low-code, no-code, and light scripting techniques to improve testing efficiency. The ideal candidate brings strong defect management and analytical skills, along with the adaptability to apply modern tools such as Playwright, AI-assisted test generation, and the Tosca automation framework.
PLS Billing is a financially critical platform where testing decisions directly affect customer experience, financial accuracy, downstream system stability, and delivery confidence. The team needs someone who can combine thoughtful test planning with hands‑on execution, clear communication, and sound judgment while helping modernize the way billing quality is validated.
The ideal candidate brings Mainframe testing depth first, strong DB2 and backend validation skills second, and practical automation experience across Playwright, Tosca, performance testing, and light scripting. They should be comfortable working through complex billing flows, interpreting batch results, validating data at the source, and managing defects to resolution.
This person is curious, analytical, and adaptable. They understand that quality in PLS Billing requires more than confirming that a screen or service responds correctly—it requires proving that the complete billing outcome, financial data, and downstream behavior are accurate and reliable.

As a Quality Engineer, you’ll plan and conduct a wide range of software quality tests and analyses to ensure all application products and services meet organizational standards aligned to their quality management approach, as well as, end‑user requirements. All Quality Engineers perform quality planning, quality design, and execution.
You’ll focus on a blend of skills enabling efficient execution of risk‑based testing, test automation, performance testing, test data management, test environment management, continuous integration, and continuous deployment, all aimed at improving delivery speed for our business partners.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to a Technology Manager or Director.
Education : Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or a related field are preferred.
License/Certification/Designation : Technology certifications including TOSCA Automated Specialist 1 (AS1), TOSCA Automated Specialist 2 (AS2), or other related designations are preferred.
Experience : Four or more years of experience using test optimization and automation processes and tools. Demonstrated experience in testing for agile teams, including planning, test plan creation, maintenance, and execution. Good understanding of test automation and optimization throughout a stack and the tools to support.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills : Strong analytical and communication skills, knowledge of planning. Ability to solve problems and set priorities as needed. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge is a plus.
Other criteria, including leadership or technical skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
