The Project Engineer coordinates day-to-day technical, cost, and schedule execution across engineering workstreams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
• 4+ years coordinating engineering projects with multi-discipline contributors.
• 4+ years managing technical, cost, and schedule priorities within program constraints.
• 4+ years creating and maintaining actionable status and risk reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional engineering teams.
• Familiarity with earned value or structured project controls.
• Experience supporting defense program reporting, customer reviews, and regulatory or certification activities.
• Strong facilitation skills for cross-functional decision forums.
• Role scope: works independently on moderately complex assignments and supports operational targets for projects/programs.
• Collaboration: communicates across departments to align on processes and execution plans.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint; Creo preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute engineering work products from requirements through verification and documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware, software, and constraints into practical solutions.
• Conduct technical analysis, risk identification, and trade studies to support design decisions.
• Present technical status, issues, and recommendations in reviews.
• Support planning, proposals, and program milestones.
• Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and security requirements.
• Travel up to 25% to support integration, test, customer engagement, and program execution.
• Work in a classified or controlled environment.
• Coordinate technical execution across engineering disciplines and stakeholders.
• Maintain integrated schedules, status, risks, and action closure metrics.
• Prepare project health reporting and escalation packages.
• Drive issue resolution with engineering teams and line management.
• Support gate reviews, approvals, and operational readiness.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

The role enables program delivery by connecting engineering teams, resource managers, and program leadership. This level is an experienced professional role with proficient job-area knowledge and practical project execution capability.

Essential Functions:

• Execute engineering work products from requirements through verification and technical documentation.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware, software, and operational constraints into practical solutions.

• Conduct technical analysis, risk identification, and trade studies to support design decisions.
