Job description

SPECIALIST, PERKS + WELLBEING
About Carvana

If you like disrupting the norm and are looking to join a company revolutionizing an industry then you will LOVE what Carvana has done for the car buying experience. Buying a car the old fashioned way sucks and we are working hard to make it NOT suck. I mean, have you seen our vending machine? We are looking for people who are excited to thrive in an environment of impactful change. Team spirit is evident at Carvana and everyday we let our passions and creativity foster innovation. We take big swings, set ambitious goals, and challenge each other to make data- and process-driven decisions in everything we do. We’ve been changing the game since 2013, and we’re not taking our foot off the gas now.

About the team and position

The Specialist, Perks + Wellbeing is part of the Total Rewards team and owns the day-to-day of Carvana’s Perks and Wellbeing offerings, from managing the vendors behind them to making sure Team Carvana knows about them, uses them, and loves them. You’re the go-to person when a team member has a question about a perk, when a vendor needs a partner on our side, and when we need a fresh idea for getting the word out. You’ll plan and run the events that bring our programs to life, including our Benefits + Perks Fair and onsite and offsite wellness events, and you’ll own ongoing initiatives like our tenure recognition program and monthly wellness challenges. The ideal candidate is part relationship-builder, part project manager, and part creative marketer. You develop strong relationships with a diverse group of people and vendors, you’re organized enough to keep a dozen things moving at once, and you find fun, creative ways to educate and engage team members, whether through an email, a Slack post, or a live event. You want people to know about all the great things available to them, and you’re excited to play a significant role in making sure Carvana’s perks and benefits deliver an amazing team member experience. This role works closely with all areas of the business, reports directly to the Senior Manager, Total Rewards, and is located in our Tempe, AZ headquarters, in office 5 days per week.

What you’ll be doing
Vendor management
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for our perks and benefits vendors, building strong partnerships and holding vendors accountable to a great team member experience.
  • Lead regular vendor check-ins; track performance, utilization, and spend; and accelerate and resolve service issues quickly.
  • Maintain vendor files, eligibility data, invoices, and program documentation so our offerings run smoothly.
  • Support contract renewals and help evaluate new vendors and offerings that could add value for Team Carvana.
Running our perks offerings
  • Become the subject matter expert on Carvana’s perks and benefits so you can educate team members and solve problems fast.
  • Respond to Team Carvana inquiries across multiple inboxes and Slack channels with the highest level of service and urgency.
  • Manage day-to-day administration of our perks programs in partnership with vendors and other internal teams including Payroll, Accounting, Business Applications, HRIS, & Engineering.
  • Own issue resolution from start to finish: troubleshoot eligibility, access, and reimbursement issues, coordinate fixes with vendors, and follow through until the team member is taken care of.
  • Keep a pulse on utilization and feedback to spot offerings that need a boost, a fix, or a rethink.
Events
  • Supporting planning and executing our annual Benefits + Perks Fair, from vendor coordination, logistics, and promotion to day-of execution and follow‑up.
  • Plan and run onsite and offsite wellness events that get team members moving, connecting, and taking care of themselves.
  • Manage event logistics end to end: vendors, space, budget, registration, materials, and post-event feedback, using what you learn to make the next one even better.
  • Support Perks, Total Rewards, Benefits + Open Enrollment activities and education sessions.
Communications, promotion + engagement
  • Build and manage communications for our perks, benefits, and wellbeing offerings, including our monthly wellness emails.
  • Write and design engaging, easy-to-understand communications across email, Slack, and in-person touchpoints.
  • Create and pitch new ideas for promoting our offerings across the company, reaching team members at HQ and across our sites.
  • Develop education resources like FAQs, one-pagers, and guides, and track engagement so we know what’s landing.
Programs + initiatives
  • Run our tenure recognition program end to end: track milestones, coordinate with vendors on fulfillment, and make sure every team member is celebrated on time.
  • Design and run monthly wellness challenges through CarvanaFit: set the theme, launch it, track participation, and recognize winners.
  • Bring new ideas to the table for educating and engaging team members; pilot them, measure results, and scale what works.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What you should know
  • 2+ years’ experience in any of the following: benefits, perks, wellbeing, HR programs, vendor or account management, event coordination, or internal communications.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and holding partners accountable to results.
  • Experience planning and executing events, from small onsite activities to large fairs.
  • Strong writing skills and a knack for making information clear, fun, and engaging. Experience with Canva or similar design tools is a plus.
  • Creative thinker who generates fresh ideas and can turn them into action.
  • Passion for helping people maximize their wellbeing and drive to create an amazing employee experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a high-volume, high-growth, fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Highest level of customer service and sense of urgency.
  • Superior attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Self‑directed and proactive, comfortable owning programs from idea to execution.
  • Comfortable using data (participation, utilization, engagement) to show what’s working and where to improve.
  • Consistently able to use ultimate discretion regarding confidential and sensitive personnel data.
  • Comfortable interacting with all levels of leaders including Executive-level.
  • Comfortable speaking to and energizing groups of people in person and over Zoom.
What we’ll offer in return
  • Full‑Time Salary Position with a competitive salary.
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits.
  • 401K with company match.
  • A multitude of perks including student loan payments, discounts on vehicles, benefits for your pets, and much more.
  • A great wellness program to keep you healthy and happy both physically and mentally.
  • Access to opportunities to expand your skillset and share your knowledge with others across the organization.
  • A company culture of promotions from within, with a start-up atmosphere allowing for varied and rapid career development.
