Job summary

Mars United Commerce is hiring a Specialist, Media Strategy to support omni-channel media campaigns for Fortune 500 clients from our Detroit (Troy) or Chicago offices. You will work with internal and external teams on planning, execution, and optimization of 3P and managed promotions, digital tactics, and programmatic media.

  • Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing, related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-3 years of shopper, consumer promotions or digital/retail media experience in an agency setting.
  • Excellent collaborator, willing to lean in and work with internal and external teams.
  • Strong understanding of media including trafficking, optimizing and tagging.
  • Clear, thorough and timely written and verbal communication; follow up on issues.
  • Detail oriented with strong MS Office / Google Workspace skills (Excel/Sheets, PowerPoint/Slides, Word/Docs).

Responsibilities

  • Support AdOps by calculating estimated fees for tagging & verification; monitor campaign pacing.

  • Manage budgets and vendor savings for financial reporting.
  • Track program timelines and vendor partnerships.
  • Identify new vendors and set up capability meetings for internal teams.
  • RFP vendors to refine targeting, rates, and execution plans.
  • Communicate performance expectations and KPIs to internal/external teams.
  • Monitor campaigns and optimize with vendors; report back with insights.

Overview

We’re looking for a Specialist, Media Strategy. Candidates must reside within a commutable distance from our Detroit (Troy) or Chicago office for a hybrid work schedule.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Client-facing role supporting planning and leading execution of best in class omni channel media campaigns
  • Execution of 3P/Managed service consumer promotion and digital media tactics including experiential, sweeps, sampling, digital coupons, rebates, influencers, programmatic, mobile, etc
  • Support AdOps by calculating estimated fees for ad tagging & verification, submitting tagging request and monitoring campaign pacing
  • End to end campaign management delivering final approved plans to market
  • Cross functional collaboration in ensuring all vendor deliverables are met
  • Management of budgets, ensuring all client facing documents are accurate, and all vendor savings are documented for financial reporting
  • Management of program trackers and timelines
  • Management of third party consumer promotions and shopper vendor partners
  • Identify new vendors and set up capabilities meetings to educate internal teams
  • RFP vendors to develop and collaborate on targeting, rates and refine overall execution plan based on client objective, media strategy and vendor capabilities
  • Have clear understanding of campaign set-up, performance, measurement and KPIs, as well as clearly set and communicate performance expectations with internal and external teams
  • Ongoing campaign monitoring and management and working with vendors to identify and implement campaign optimizations
  • Report back on campaign performance. Collaborate with vendor and team to provide campaign data, insights and strategic recommendations based on client objectives, media strategy and results
Skillsets Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing, related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1-3 years of shopper, consumer promotions or digital/retail media experience working in an agency setting
  • Must be an excellent collaborator, willing to lean in and work closely with internal and external teams
  • Must have a strong level of understanding of multiple media including trafficking, optimizing and tagging
  • Able to communicate clearly, thoroughly, succinctly and in a timely manner both verbally and in writing; follow up on outstanding issues; ask questions
  • Keen attention to detail with strong mathematical and Microsoft Office / Google Workspace skills including expert proficiency in applications such as Excel/Sheets, PowerPoint/Slides and Word/Docs
  • Able to build relationships across the team, department, vendors and clients
  • Detail oriented with ability to track and reconcile budgets to fine level of detail

Compensation Range: USD $50,065.00 - USD $66,360.00/Annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
