L3Harris Technologies in Rochester, NY is seeking a Specialist, Mechanical Engineering to develop mechanical and electromechanical test fixtures for production testing and to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

This role requires a Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years or a Graduate degree with 2+ years (or 8+ years if no degree). The position features a 9/80 schedule, a competitive salary in the New York market, and comprehensive benefits.

Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked, and have every other Friday off

Job Description:

• Develops mechanical and electromechanical concepts and designs for test fixtures and stations used in the factory for production testing. Test applications include:
  • Circuit board functional test (high density, fine pitch and RF connections).
  • Unit level (radio)
  • Environmental chamber testing
  • Fully automated test systems with material handling
• Evaluate existing factory test systems and suggest/implement improvements to reduce fixture related test failures.
• Provide feedback for testability of product designs to engineering.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with a cross-functional team

Essential Functions:

• Fixture, cable, PCB design for automated manufacturing test fixtures.
• Proficient in 3D modeling software (eg. Creo, CAD, etc.)
• Support Delivery of new products to our manufacturing facility.
• Positive attitude, openness to new ideas, willingness to learn new tools.
• Ability to obtain security clearance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant Mechanical Engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related Mechanical Engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• SolidWorks experience
• Test systems related to RF products
• Implementing designs with additive printed technologies – familiar with processes and materials
• Experienced with Visio
• Ability to work with planning, quality, operations, and engineering to highlight and resolve issues.
• Agile scrum development process experience

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York State is $76,500 - $142,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
