L3Harris Technologies is hiring a Specialist, Logistics Engineer for our Cape Canaveral, FL location. You will join the Systems Test, and Launch Operations team handling logistics planning, integration and testing for space-bound launch vehicles.

Essential duties include ILS, inventory, packaging, and transportation of aerospace hardware. Travel up to 10% is required as part of the role, and a US Secret clearance is mandatory.

• Bachelor’s Degree in logistics/engineering field plus 4 years experience; graduate degree with 2 years; or 8 years experience in lieu of degree.
• Active US Secret Security Clearance.
• Experience in logistics services for government/military programs preferred.

Job Description:

The Missile Solutions segment of L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Specialist, Logistics Engineer at our Cape Canaveral, FL location. There, you will join our Systems Test, and Launch Operations team; where you will participate in logistics planning, integration and testing of our space bound hypersonic launch vehicles, culminating in the thrill of launch operations.

Essential Functions:

• Perform Integrated Logistics Support and logistics support analysis.
• Analyze, plan, and implement complex logistics tasks.
• Perform maintenance, sustainment, inventory, storage, supply, packaging and handling, and transportation of complex aerospace hardware.
• Understand and use inventory systems, tool control, calibration, facility optimization, warehousing, flight hardware contingency recovery and transportation, design support activities, and logistics products and processes.
• Generate, author and maintain standard logistics documents.
• Ability to travel inside and outside of the continental United States up to 10%

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related logistics/engineering field such as industrial, mechanical, aerospace, or electrical and minimum of 4 years of prior related experience in logistics services. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
• Active US Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Experience in logistics services for either ballistic missiles or space launch vehicles.
• Experience in providing logistics services for government and military programs.
• Experience working with and managing government furnished property, customer furnished property, critical flight hardware and interfacing with Government facilities and test ranges.
• CFR 49 Certified and/or knowledge of shipment of hazardous materials
• Trained to work with Class 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, and 1.4 ordnance devices.
• Solid computer skills and experience using the Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.).
• Work independently and within a team environment
• Communicate with an integrated product team, including government agency, military service, subcontractor, and Coleman Aerospace personnel.
• Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.
• ESD prevention and training.
• Experience as an aircrew member and/or a background in aircraft support needs.
• Experience with 463L Cargo handling systems.
• Capable of obtaining an FAA Class III (or higher) medical certificate. Able to meet USAF Aerospace Physiological standards, satisfactorily complete the associated training, and willing to support launch team aboard USAF aircraft.
• Familiar with USAF policies and procedures for HAAMS (high altitude airdrop missions) operations. Previous experience as an aircrew member and/or a background in aircraft maintenance.
• Complete safety training courses for working in the vicinity of, handling, testing, and installation of explosive devices.
• Previous experience as an aircrew member and/or a background in aircraft maintenance and flight line operations is desired.
• Working knowledge of EVMS as related to government contracts and reporting requirements desirable.
• Working knowledge of Universal Documentation System and other Range Commander's Council documents for flight safety and range tracking is a plus as is a working knowledge of telemetry systems and both line-of-sight and satellite communication systems.
• Experience with solid propellant rocket motors preferred.
