Job summary

MannKind Corporation in Danbury, CT is seeking a Specialist I, Production Maintenance Mechanic for the 3rd shift, Mon-Fri 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM with a 15% shift differential. You will install, maintain, and repair line manufacturing equipment and troubleshoot from diagrams and manuals.

This role requires a high school diploma or vocational training, 1–3 years of maintenance experience, and proficiency with Excel/Word. Knowledge of GMP/FDA guidelines and the ability to lift 50 pounds are important.

Qualifications

• High School or GED with 3–5 years related experience or equivalent.
• Vocational or technical training in a maintenance discipline.
• 1–3 years mechanical maintenance experience with basic fabrication skills.
• Familiar with GMP/FDA guidelines and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, maintenance, and repairs on line manufacturing equipment.
• Diagnose failures, replace defective components, and troubleshoot from manuals and diagrams.
• Maintain maintenance logs and document activities in CMMS.
• Assist in installing new equipment and routine inspections.
• Operate within safety guidelines and support building maintenance tasks.

Job Summary:

Performs installation, maintenance, and repairs on line manufacturing equipment. Locates and diagnoses failures, replaces defective components, and performs basic troubleshooting using standard electronic equipment, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, prints, manuals, and verbal and/or written instructions. Maintains appropriate maintenance and repair logs. Uses a variety of hand, power, and test tools and equipment. Under supervision may redesign optical, vacuum, electrical, electronic, or mechanical systems for incorporation on existing manufacturing equipment. 3rd Shift. Monday - Friday, 10pm to 6:30am. 15% Shift Differential

• Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on manufacturing equipment.
• Reads and understands technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot issues or make repairs.
• Performs work in one or more machine trades including electrical, mechanical or machining.
• Performs routine equipment maintenance and repair.
• Assist in installation of new equipment.
• Inspection of manufacturing equipment operations on a routine basis.
• Installs new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines.
• Enters and maintains data in an computerized system
• Assists Maintenance Department with general building maintenance functions.

Qualifications:

• High School/GED with minimum of 3-5 years related experience or the equivalent combination of experience and training
• Vocational or technical training.
• 1-3 years mechanical maintenance experience.
• Organizational skills
• Working Knowledge Microsoft Excel and Word
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Knowledge of cGMP procedures preferred.
• Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and other regulatory guidelines.
• Knowledgeable in calibration and preventive maintenance procedures.
• Skilled and knowledgeable in maintaining computer database programs.

We will continue to closely monitor our supply chain for potential impact to the supply of Afrezza. MannKind sources critical raw materials from suppliers in the United States and Europe and we remain in close communication with key suppliers to assure a reliable supply of insulin.

Our US manufacturing facility is fully operational and we are taking a number of steps to prevent any impact to our supplies. Afrezza is still readily available in U.S. pharmacies, and if needed, pharmacies can order additional supplies from wholesalers with expected delivery within 1-2 days. As the global situation evolves, we will continue to take the necessary steps to safeguard the reliable supply of Afrezza.
