The Excel Center is the first Free in-person High School for adult learners 22 years of age and older in Colorado who have not earned a High School diploma.

The Specialist I, Post Graduation Support, will work under the direction of the College and Career Readiness Supervisor. The Post-Graduation Support Specialist will track graduates' post-graduation activities to determine success levels of former students. This position will contribute to the overall achievement of school-wide goals around graduation outcomes, enrollment needs, student achievement, retention, etc.

This role demonstrates behaviors consistent with our Mission, Vision, and Values, on behalf of Goodwill of Colorado. This is a full-time, year-round, in-person position at our school located in Aurora, Colorado. Applicants must reside in Colorado and work from the Aurora facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Senior Seminar/Graduate Support:

• Conducts one-on-one follow-up in person, by phone or by email with graduates to continually monitor their efforts, measure progress on their action plan, and provide accountability for up to a year post-graduation. Drafts success stories from students. Tracks all student progress for reporting purposes.
• Meets with Senior Seminar students one-on-one to create and implement clear post-graduate action plans, support with job or academic applications, Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and other financial aid applications pre-graduation.
• Utilizes coaching strategies to build rapport with students to influence decision-making.
• Teaches occasional segments of Senior Seminar as it pertains to post-secondary success.
• Collaborates with Student Advocates and College and Career Readiness Coordinator to support holistic academic and pathway plans for students 2-3 terms away from graduation.
• Works with the College and Career Readiness Coordinator to identify dual enrollment and employment opportunities that will allow students a higher earning potential upon graduation, with focus on providers that are on the approved Colorado Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL) and Career Development Incentive Program (CDIP) lists as per Colorado Department of Education (CDE) requirements that can be completed within Excel Center term constraints.
• Supports students enrolled in dual enrollment or certificate classes with learning strategies, system challenges, and motivation, as needed.
• Collaborates with College and Career Readiness Coordinator to build a consistent, sustainable certification program, including in-house opportunities.
• Builds and maintains networks with key community partners including Goodwill staff, community agencies, educational institutions, financial liaisons, and employers to connect students to wrap-around services and provide direct employability.
• Maintains tracking of key contacts of employers, certification providers, and academic administrators, in collaboration with the College and Career Readiness Coordinator.
• Assists with school-wide presentations to build Dual Enrollment/Certificate program awareness.

Data Management and Tracking:

• Assists in creating and maintaining post-graduate student data tracking mechanisms around employment and post-secondary academics, incorporating relevant metrics into Synergy and in collaboration with Information Technology (IT) Support Specialist.
• Evaluates data to inform decision-making, drive outcomes and develop interventions for students.
• Pulls data from student information system (SIS) for reporting needs.

Other Responsibilities:

• Teaches an elective if/when the opportunity arises.
• Assists with Alumni events.
• Is available to develop and support occasional extra-curricular student evening programs.
• Attends staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
• Other relevant duties and responsibilities.

Education:

• A Bachelors degree or a Workforce related field or Education field.

Experience:

• Experience working with diverse adult populations is required.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

Other:

• Possesses a working knowledge of computer programs to perform clerical tasks: Google applications (specifically Gmail, Google Docs, etc.), including the Microsoft Office suite (specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams). Demonstrates the ability to create and edit documents, manage email communication, collaborate digitally, and perform basic data entry and organization tasks.
• Ability to provide exceptional customer service in a professional and responsive service to internal and external customers, builds positive relationships, addresses customer needs effectively, and uses feedback to improve service quality.
• Ability to articulates thoughts and expresses ideas effectively using oral, written, visual, and non-verbal communication skills, as well as listening skills to comprehend others' needs. • Bilingual in English and Spanish are a plus.

• It is preferred that the incumbent have the ability to drive for company business*.

Per auto vehicle insurance carrier requirements: For applicants/employees to qualify for inclusion on the Goodwill driver insurance schedule, for purpose of driving Goodwill fleet vehicles, or for purpose of receiving company mileage reimbursement they must be at least:

• 21 years of age (not engaged in passenger transportation),
• 25 - 70 years of age for all passenger transportation services,
• 25 years of age for CDL.
