Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking a General Maintenance Mechanic to support on-site building operations in Oxnard, CA. You will maintain lighting systems, assist in preventative maintenance, and perform diverse facilities tasks to ensure reliable occupant environments.

The role requires a valid California driver's license, 1 year of maintenance experience, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. Proficiency with MS Office and tool use is expected; MEWP certification is available.

Qualifications

• Valid state driver’s license is required.
• Minimum 1 year of building repair and maintenance experience.
• Experience with basic plumbing and basic electrical.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. and use ladders up to 14 ft.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Mail) and PC use.
• Must be able to obtain MEWP certification; visa sponsorship not provided.

Responsibilities

• Maintain lighting systems bulbs/LED drivers/ballasts.
• Assist in preventative maintenance of building and equipment.
• Perform tasks: filter changes, bulb changes, coil cleaning, exhaust fan maintenance, drainage cleaning, and more.
• Move office furniture and equipment as needed.
• Conduct facility inspections and report conditions impacting occupancy and operations.
• Respond to emergencies and uphold safety procedures.

General Maintenance Mechanic

Reports To : Regional Operations Manager

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain lighting system bulbs/LED drivers/ballasts
• Assist in the preventative maintenance of building and equipment
• Completes special tasks that include but are not limited to:
  • Filter changes (e.g., VAV, RTUs, Water Filters)
  • Bulb changes
  • Coil cleaning
  • Exhaust fan preventative maintenance
  • Drainage clearing, cleaning, and chemical treatments for drains and water features
  • Grate clearing and cleaning
  • Visual inspections (e.g., hazardous waste, diesel fuel, blockages, temperature readings, eye wash, parts elevators, etc.)
  • Scissor Lift Operations
  • Change flushometers, fixture
  • Signage and post replacement and repairs
  • Remove/Replace damaged flooring, carpets
  • Power tool use and equipment testing
  • Perform other duties as required
• Move office furniture, machinery, equipment and other materials as requested
• Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on as found conditions impacting satisfactory client occupancy and operations.
• Respond effectively to all emergencies.
• Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas.
• Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them.
• Maintain compliance to State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws.
• Complies with all policies for the safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
• Documents work performance and materials procurement as directed.
• Other assigned operational tasks as may be typically expected of the Preventative Maintenance Mechanic role.

Qualifications

Candidate must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license. Completion of an applicable technical training program is desirable, have a minimum of one (1) year of applicable working experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and basic electrical. Must have ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., use ladders up to 14 ft, possess mechanical and electrical aptitude, and have excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written. Must be proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Mail, etc..) and be able to effectively use PC computer. Candidate must be able to use power and hand tools required to perform assigned work scope. Be able to obtain certification for MEWP (aerial lift). This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Estimated Compensation

Estimated compensation for this position: 66,400.00 – 81,400.00 USD per year. This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
