Job summary

ArtTable, Inc. in New York seeks a Specialist to head up the Prints Department. You will appraise, catalogue and write about works from Old Masters through Modern Prints, while cultivating consignors and buyers to transact with the house.

As a leader, you will build each biannual prints sale, source consignments for other auctions, and manage two direct reports who support the category, developing client relationships and guiding cataloguing and exhibition planning.

Qualifications

  • Previous professional experience in art auction houses and/or galleries is a must.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills and teamwork appreciation.
  • A BA in a relevant field is required.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

A bespoke auction house in New York is looking for a Specialist to head up their Prints Department. The successful candidate will have knowledge of this subject matter from Old Masters through Modern Prints to be able to appraise, catalogue and write about the material, as well as cultivate relationships with potential sellers from which to source consignments, and buyers who could be interested in transacting with the house. They will build each biannual prints sale, as well as source prints consignments for other fine art auctions throughout the year, working directly with clients and answering any and all inquiries. This is a leadership position that will manage two direct reports that support the category. Previous professional experience in an auction house or gallery is a must.

COMPENSATION:

$70,000 – $85,000
