Job summary

KPMG LLP in McLean, Virginia seeks a Specialist to join our Federal Advisory practice. You will support architectures, prototyping, and optimization of cloud architectures and contribute to cloud platforms and DevOps capabilities.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of cloud engineering experience, a Bachelor's degree, and familiarity with Azure/AWS/GCP, Kubernetes/OpenShift/Docker, and IaC tools. Travel flexibility and US Government clearance eligibility are preferred.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of one year of technical Cloud Engineering experience.
  • U.S. Federal government consulting experience preferred.
  • Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP using infrastructure as code.
  • Experience with cloud native containers (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker).
  • Familiar with IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef or Puppet.
  • Experience developing data analytics platforms on cloud is a plus.
  • Familiar with Unix/Linux environments and Git/SVN.

Job description

KPMG is currently seeking a Specialist to join our Federal Advisory practice.

Responsibilities:
  • Support architectures, design, prototyping, implementation, and optimization of cloud architectures
  • Support development of cloud platforms / applications utilizing infrastructure as code methodologies to solve real world problems ensuring quality and compliance following best industry practices
  • Work in cross-disciplinary teams with KPMG industry professionals to understand client needs and be part of teams developing holistic operational solutions & applications contributing to cloud infrastructure / DevOps capabilities
  • Research, experiment, and utilize leading cloud methodologies / new tools for increased productivity, security, reliability, and performance
  • Progress tools / services useful in cloud DevOps environments such as performance monitoring, security monitoring, deployment / configuration, continuous integration / build servers, and cloud resource creation scripts
  • Support business requirements capture / translation, hypothesis-driven consulting, workstream / project management, and client relationship development
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of one year of technical Cloud Engineering experience; U.S. Federal government consulting experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
  • Experience in cloud architectures and implementing production infrastructures / applications in one or more of the following cloud environments / technologies: Azure, AWS, GCP using infrastructure as code approach
  • Experience with cloud native container technologies such as: Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Docker (experience with Terraform, Ansible, Chef and Puppet is preferred)
  • Experience developing data analytics platforms / applications on cloud is preferred
  • Familiarity of Unix/Linux environments and ability to support develop in terminal environments; experience with source code management systems like GIT / SVN
  • Ability to travel as required to support firm engagements
  • Applicant must possess or be eligible for a U.S. Government clearance
