Merck is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety professional for the West Point, PA site. The role integrates EH&S programs into daily operations, driving regulatory compliance and continuous improvement in line with site goals.

Position Overview :- Responsible for providing compliant environmental, health, and safety programs to operating departments at the West Point site.-- Integrates Environmental Health and Safety programs into daily operations to assure regulatory compliance, achieves continuous performance improvement, meeting Environmental Health and Safety performance objectives.- Partners with operations to develop objectives to achieve these goals in alignment with site business goals and values.- --

Responsibilities include:

• Completes hazard assessments, industrial hygiene monitoring, process hazard analysis, life safety reviews, incident investigations, environmental regulatory field analysis, environmental reports and supports permit applications
• Prepares reports of assessments, evaluations, and investigations, including findings and corrective and/or preventative recommendations
• Interacts with departments to correct non-compliance issues, including follow-up on corrective actions
• Reviews processes, facilities, procedures and management of change documents to assure conformance to recognized Environmental Health and Safety regulations, standards and guidelines
• Provides support to client groups in completing injury/illness/incident investigation and analysis, training, self-assessments and addressing specific Environmental Health and Safety concerns as they are raised
• Develops Environmental Health and Safety procedures, guidelines and training programs as assigned
• Provides leadership to support sustained performance of action-oriented Environmental Health and Safety committees
• Supports site's Environmental Health and Safety priorities and initiatives as assigned
• Assures completion of all regulatory submissions, notifications, etc. required to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local Environmental Health and Safety requirements

Required:

• Bachelor's Degree required, concentration in Safety or Environmental related technical discipline preferred
• Minimum of 3-5 years applied professional Environmental Health and Safety work experience
• Basic level of proficiency in the areas of environmental compliance, occupational health and safety, process safety, critical thinking, communication skills, and problem solving-
• Awareness of project management techniques and basic budgeting

Preferred:

• Possess or working toward relevant professional certification(s), such as CSP and/or CIH
• Understanding and prior support of bio-manufacturing facilities and pharmaceutical R&D

The salary range for this role is $87,300.00 - $137,400.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.

The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
