Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking a Specialist, Engineering Services to lead a healthcare facility maintenance team. You will oversee installation, repair, and ongoing maintenance of base building systems, ensuring safety and compliance while minimizing disruption to operations.

The role requires at least five years in healthcare facility/plant maintenance, a valid US driver's license, and multi-craft expertise in HVAC, mechanical systems, or electrical fields.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma plus two years of trade/vocational schooling or apprenticeship in electrical, piping/plumbing, refrigeration, or HVAC.
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare facility/plant engineering maintenance.
  • Thorough understanding of Joint Commission and other regulatory survey requirements.
  • Multi-skilled expertise in a minimum of two craft areas (HVAC, fluid handling/pumping, mechanical systems, welding, electrical systems).
  • Valid US Driver's License.
  • Ability to climb ladders up to 40 feet and lift 60 lbs repeatedly.
  • Ability to detect emergency alarms (auditory and/or visual).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct maintenance staff, monitoring performance and ensuring efficient completion of service requests with minimal disruption.
  • Implement and oversee the preventative maintenance program, scheduling tasks strategically and delegating to qualified team members.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning equipment, determine corrective actions, and facilitate root cause analysis to restore optimal operating conditions.
  • Provide hands-on training to maintenance staff on proper tool usage, safety procedures, troubleshooting techniques, and professional standards.
  • Oversee contracted maintenance work, ensuring timely performance, warranty fulfillment, and proper documentation.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment parts; prepare purchase order requests and identify reliable vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental policies for hazardous material storage, usage, and disposal while maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
  • Recommend facilities repairs and improvements for annual budget inclusion and implement at least one annual cost-saving initiative related to energy or utility consumption.
