Job summary

Boardwalk Pipelines, LP is seeking a Specialist Elec & Instrumentation/Sr. Specialist Elec & Instrumentation for our Tallulah, LA facility.

The role covers installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic, electrical, and pneumatic equipment and control systems in the assigned area. The candidate will support compression facility operations, including operating compressors, maintaining valve and flow control systems, and participating in an on-call rotation.

We are currently looking for a Specialist Elec & Instrumentation/ Sr. Specialist Elec & Instrumentation for our Tallulah, LA.

Position Description

This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic, electrical, and pneumatic equipment and control systems in assigned area, likely to provide support in adjacent areas, along wiht project support. The role also supports compression facility operations, including operating compressors and auxiliary equipment, assisting with mechanical repairs, and maintaining pipeline valve and flow control systems. The position participates in an on-call rotation, supports other facilities as needed, and is responsible for recognizing and reporting abnormal or unsafe operating conditions, accident and near-miss reporting, and emergency response. Key responsibilities include safely installing instrumentation and electrical components; troubleshooting and maintaining control systems, instrumentation, and electrical power systems up to 4,160 volts; and supporting gas reciprocating, electric drive, and turbine engines, compressors, generators, and auxiliary equipment. Duties also include running conduit, pulling wire, changing motors, maintaining lighting and basic motor controls, and performing basic PLC maintenance and troubleshooting. The position maintains advanced monitoring devices such as gas and fire detection systems and vibration, temperature, pressure, and flow monitoring equipment. Responsibilities also include installing and maintaining end devices, alarms, shutdown systems, process controls, air/fuel controllers, and panel boards; interpreting P&IDs, electrical diagrams, and complex electrical drawings; and performing preventive and general maintenance on electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. Additional duties include maintaining brine pumps, dehydration facilities, hot oil systems, measurement and metering equipment, over-pressure protection systems, and providing training and technical support. Successful candidate must live 30 miles from the Tallulah Compressor station.

Required Skills, Knowledge & Experience

• Instrument and Electrical maintenance experience
• Individual must have excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of personnel, as well as strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills and a strong ability for prioritizing and scheduling multiple projects. This individual should also have experience with Microsoft programs as well as the ability to read, comprehend, and follow Company procedures and manufacturers guidelines.
• Physical requirements of the role include the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet to transfer tools and equipment, the ability to operate valve control wheels with a minimum of 50 turns, and the ability to work alone as required in extreme weather conditions including hot, cold, muddy, and wet environments.
• Valid Driver’s license, good driving record is required and the ability to operate an all-terrain vehicle.
• Must have a strong commitment to personal and Team safety.
• Must live within 30 miles of the Tallulah facility

Preferred Skills, Knowledge & Experience

• 4 (plus) years of natural gas operations and maintenance experience.
• More than 3 years of experience on pipeline operating systems and DOT 192 knowledge
• Associate Degree or Certificate of Completion in Electrical or Electronics Technology from an Institution Accredited by one of the National Regional Accrediting Bodies
