Job summary

Versiti is seeking a Donor Driver to join our mobile collection team in Ohio. Under supervision, you will operate a full-size van, transport staff and supplies, and perform donor screening and phlebotomy per SOPs while delivering excellent customer service.

You will follow DOT regulations, rebook donors for future appointments, and contribute to a positive, safety-focused work environment. Must have valid driver's license and cargo certification; willing to work evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years of relevant people-facing experience preferred; less than 1 year required.
  • Must have valid Driver License and cargo certification.

Responsibilities

  • Follows DOT guidelines when operating a full-size van and safely transports staff, supplies, and equipment.
  • Loads/unloads supplies and sets up at the mobile site, including technology systems.
  • Performs donor screening, mini-physical, and phlebotomy.
  • Treats donors with customer service excellence and responds to inquiries promptly.
  • Rebooks donors for future donation appointments.

Position Summary

Under direct supervision by department leadership, performs phlebotomy collection of whole blood and apheresis products. Interacts with donors and coordinators, providing a high level of customer service to deliver an excellent donation experience. Takes pride in and is committed to delivering high quality services. Works cooperatively and is a supportive member of the team/group. Contributes positively to the achievement of team objectives. Responsible for operating the mobile drive vehicle, loading and unloading supplies and transporting the mobile staff in a safe and efficient manner. The Specialist, Donor Driver plays an essential role in promoting and maintaining a collaborative and respectful team culture and contributes to a strong and engaging employee experience. The individual models teamwork, effective communication, and professionalism and fosters an environment where donors and colleagues feel safe, valued, and respected.

Responsibilities
  • Follows all DOT guidelines when operating full-size commercial van/Promaster, and safely transports staff, supplies, and equipment.
  • Loads/unloads supplies and performs set up at the mobile site, including technology systems and quality control.
  • Performs donor screening (collects donor histories), mini-physical, and phlebotomy.
  • Treats donors with customer service excellence, presenting a positive image. Responds to customer inquiries, requests, and complaints with a timely and complete response and escalates to leader when appropriate. Provides a service-centric donor experience by interacting with donors respectfully, compassionately, and professionally.
  • May conduct automation (Alyx and/or Trima), including recognizing and responding to automation reactions. Recruits and converts donors for automation.
  • Contributes to and upholds a positive team culture and employee experience by fostering teamwork, collaborating effectively, maintaining an encouraging environment, and by supporting coworkers through kind and respectful behaviors.
  • Maintains product integrity and ensures proper identification of all donors, performs routine maintenance on equipment, and completes department records as needed. May prepare/pack units for transport.
  • Observes donors for reactions, provides reaction care and assists other staff in handling reactions if needed.
  • Rebooks donors for future donation appointments.
  • May be subject to additional background checks as required by sponsor if asked to assist a mobile.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification
  • Understands and performs in accordance with all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Complies with all standard operating policies and procedures
Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma required
  • GED required

Experience

  • 1-3 years relevant people facing experience preferred
  • Less than 1 year job-related experience. required
