Job summary

L3Harris Technologies seeks a Specialist, Designer to support hardware engineering with CAD design and Creo MCAD expertise. The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of relevant experience, with TS/SCI clearance and favorable polygraph, in Palm Bay, FL.

On a 9/80 schedule, you’ll develop models, drawings, and BOMs while participating in engineering changes and data control. Experience with Agile PDM, GD&T, and ASME standards is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required with 4+ years’ experience; graduate degree with 2+ years preferred.
• Alternatively 8+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• Must obtain U.S. Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and pass polygraph.

Responsibilities

• CAD design assignments supporting hardware engineering; ensure drawings meet requirements.
• Create/edit Creo MCAD parts and drawings with accurate BOMs.
• Provide CAD support across the product development lifecycle.
• Maintain parts lists and documentation within Agile PDM.
• Incorporate engineering change orders and ensure data integrity.
• Resolve CAD design/drawings issues and assist with tooling optimization.

Essential Functions

• Performs a wide range of CAD design assignments in support of the hardware engineering organization including the editing of models and/or drawing, notes provided by engineering. Assures design documentation complies with the program requirements, organization’s processes and industry standards. Prepares accurate drawings and schematics with proper tolerances, dimensions and instructions, with oversight from senior designers.
• Create and edit accurate and complete piece part/assembly designs and associated drawings utilizing Creo MCAD application
• Provide CAD support (Creo) throughout the product development process
• Create and edit parts lists and Bill of Materials utilizing Agile PDM
• Generate and/or modify product’s models, drawings and documentation
• Support the control of mechanical digital data files and drawings
• Prepare and incorporate engineering change orders
• Input data and assure hardware structures are accurate in a Product Data Management tool
• Support resolution of problems/issues in CAD design/drawings and provide

Qualifications

• Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
• Must obtain U.S. Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and receive favorable polygraph result

Preferred Additional Skills

• Current TS/SCI clearance
• Favorable Polygraph
• Familiarity with ASME Y100 Standards
• Experience with ASME Y14.5 GD&T
• Experience with Creo revision 4 or higher to create engineering designs and associated drawings
• Familiarity with Agile PDM
