Job summary

Denver Public Schools is seeking a Construction Quality Control Inspector to review, inspect, and document all bond program projects during construction. You will help identify substandard materials and reporting to the Project Manager for resolution, ensuring quality installations and cost efficiency.

You will provide input to the Senior Manager of Facility Support Services on standards, evaluate new methods, and prepare regular project tracking reports.

Qualifications

  • Five years in a multi-facility maintenance organization with multiple trades.
  • Two years in cost estimating, blueprint reading, and public relations.
  • Commitment to equity and dismantling oppression in the community.
  • Residency in Colorado and ability to meet physical demands.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participates in QA/QC from design through final acceptance.
  • Advises on maintenance of construction standards and documentation.
  • Evaluates new methods and materials for cost savings.
  • Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly project tracking reports.
  • Coordinates issue resolution with PM and Senior Manager of FSS.
  • Consults with Facility Planning, Construction Services, Eng, contractors, and reps.
  • Monitors projects for safety compliance.

About This Job

Reviews, inspects, and documents all construction projects during the construction period of the current Bond Program. Helps the division identify and report substandard materials and installation methods to the Project Manager (project owner) for resolution, ensuring quality installations that reduce future asset operation and maintenance costs, resulting in improved utilization of District operations and maintenance resources. Responsible for providing input to the Senior Manager of Facility Support Services (FSS) related to the development and implementation of District construction and design standards.

What You'll Do
  • Actively participates in the quality control/quality assurance program, including review of all projects from design through execution, documentation, progress reporting, conflict resolution, and final acceptance of projects on behalf of the Operations and Maintenance Department
  • Serves in an advisory support role to Construction Services about maintenance of construction and installation control methods and documentation (Standards), including updating and revising documentation to match current technology
  • Evaluates new/alternate methods and materials as a cost saving measure
  • Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly tracking reports related to project review, inspection, issue resolution, and compliance documentation
  • Coordinates issue resolution with the Construction Services Project Manager and the Senior Manager of Facility Support Services (FSS)
  • Consults/coordinates with Facility Planning, Construction Services, Engineering, contracted Architects and Engineers, contractors, and factory representatives as necessary
  • Monitors all projects for safety compliance
What You’ll Need
  • Work with electrical systems and/or fire alarms is preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience working in a multiple facilities maintenance organization with multiple building trades in a public or private organization
  • Two (2) years training and/or equivalent experience in cost estimating, blueprint reading, business, and public and customer relations

  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
