Pearson is seeking a Specialist, Business Analytics (Data Engineering family) to ensure we solve the right business problems. You will articulate stakeholder needs, map business processes, and translate them into Agile requirements for data, reporting, and BI initiatives.

You will lead requirements elicitation, collaborate with technical teams, and drive consistency across use cases, process models, and documentation while managing expectations and communications with stakeholders.

Job Title:

Specialist, Business Analytics

The role aligns to industry level titles such as "Business Analyst (BA)"
Role Summary

The Business Analyst (BA) ensures we are solving the right business problem. They provide deep understanding of stakeholder needs, business processes, and desired outcomes. They work closely with business users, SMEs, product owners, developers, data engineers, and QA teams.

  • Understand business needs and objectives
  • Ensure data initiatives align to business objectives
  • Elicit and analyze business requirements and use cases
  • Create user stories and process flows
  • Create shared understanding across stakeholders
  • Identify process improvement opportunities
  • Support testing, validation, and user acceptance activities
  • Act as the "voice of the business" throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities

Qualifications
  • BA or BS degree in Business, Communications, Computer Science, Information Systems, or relevant experience
  • Experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or related role
  • Knowledge of databases and reporting solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
  • Relevant IIBA, PMI, or Scrum Alliance certification preferred

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by factors including skill set, experience, and location.

The full-time salary range for this role is $85,000 - $100,000. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program. Information on benefits can be found .
