KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Material Flow Design & Launch Planning:

Utilize physical item metrics (LxWxH, weight, max bin quantities) to design optimal line-side storage, kitting arrangements, and warehouse footprint layouts during facility and project launches.

Simulate and design material handling and flow processes for upcoming facility and project launches to proactively mitigate bottlenecks prior to start-of-production.

Develop and implement strategies to streamline material flow, reduce waste, and improve throughput.

Collaborate with engineering and production teams to design optimal layouts (such as line-side storage, kitting cells, and optimal logistics paths) for material storage and movement.

  • Inventory Setup & Readiness:

Gather and maintain detailed item specifications—including physical dimensions (Length x Width x Height x Weight) and maximum bin quantities—to accurately configure WMS/ERP storage parameters and optimize bin capacity.

Define initial stocking strategies, safety stock parameters, and replenishment workflows for pre-production, ramp-up, and steady-state launch phases.

Coordinate with procurement and materials teams to manage material replenishment and storage solutions.

Partner with Systems and WMS teams to set up, test and configure ERP/WMS parameters, bin locations, and visual controls for facility codes.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Launch Project Management:

Work closely with product development and procurement teams to plan material requirements for new OEM product launches.

Work with engineering and operations to develop layout updates, workstation configurations, and internal logistics pathways to optimize space and movement.

Participate in launch team syncs to update the status of the pre-launch materials activities.

  • Process Improvement, Training, & Handover:

Identify opportunities for process enhancements and lead initiatives to implement best practices and SOPs/job aids tailored to the footprint of the launch facility.

Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions.

Provide hands‑on training and troubleshooting support to local site teams on new processes and systems during go‑live.

Execute a handover process to transition daily operations over to the site material flow teams.
